Recently Medvedev took part in a Q and A with fans at a sponsored event where he admitted to never having an Idol growing up.

World No. 5 Daniil Medvedev, of Russia, took part in an event hosted by one of his sponsors. There he was featured in a fan question and answer where a fan asked him about his idols. He replied:
"Well, I never had an idol because I always wanted to be myself, do things for myself, but when I was young I always watched the games of Nikolay Davydenko or Marat Safin and also Mikhail Youzhny, the best Russian players of those years."
The US Open finalist also spoke about his usual training routine:
"I do one or two tennis sessions a day, with approximately two hours in total, and a one-and-a-half-hour training session. In the top 100, we all know each other very well and train together many times, but each game is different and you need to analyze and also focus on some specific points in order to complicate the lives of rivals."
One fan also asked Daniil about his on-court behaviour which has garnered some criticism in the past:
“I show my emotions on the court, but I don't have big celebrations when I win. It's something I like, so I'll probably never change it."
Medvedev hasn't had the greatest of the year so far and was set to play in Indian Wells. That won't happen now as the tournament got cancelled but the Russian will still be looking for his 1st title in Miami.
