The 2021 Geneva Open is a clay event running from May 15th till May 22nd and headlined by Roger Federer.
The event is an ATP 250 event hosting a strong field of players headlined by Roger Federer. It is the first clay event Federer will play in over a year and the only one he will play ahead of the Roland Garros. Besides Federer, players like Shapovalov, Dimitrov, Fognini and Ruud will take part in the event.
The 2nd day of the event will feature 7 matches in total headlined by Fognini and Rome semifinalist Opelka. The first day of the Geneva Open was one that was interrupted by rain several times. The weather forecast for the whole week looks rather depressing but it should get better tomorrow.
The play should start at 10:00 CET. There will be several interesting matches such as Fognini vs Pella, Fucsovics vs Laaksonen, Monteiro vs Djere. The timing of the matches will be flexible and weather dependent.
A bit later in the day, we should see four more matches: Opelka vs Cuevas, Lopez vs Altmaier, Travaglia vs Cecchinato and Verdasco vs Ivashka. The programme will close with a match that was moved from Wednesday to Tuesday and it will Roger Federer vs Pablo Andujar. The match is the first clay match Federer will player in over a year and it will garner quite a bit of interest against a tough opponent.
