The US Open has always been a real top tournament for pre event entertainment and that was the case on Wednesday as 43 Grand Slam titles came together at the Stars of the Open for a thrilling night.

Carlos Alcaraz and Andre Agassi teamed up to face off against the team of John McEnroe and Novak Djokovic. Agassi and McEnroe have recently reunited on multiple occasions on the pickleball court, but they haven't played against each other on a tennis court in a number of years.

But fans were left entertained in a multitude of ways as McEnroe and Djokovic sealed a 10-8 win over Alcaraz and Agassi in a match that was certainly all smiles. While Matteo Berrettini and Jasmine Paolini defeated Sebastian Korda and Iga Swiatek 11-9.

Juan Martin del Potro had an emotional return to the site of his 2009 win as he partnered Gabriela Sabatini to an 11-9 win over Andy Roddick and Caroline Wozniacki. The former hitting a 125mph serve on his first point back. You never lose it. Before Sloane Stephens and Frances Tiafoe brought it back to the present day with a 10-6 win over actor Boris Kodjoe and Taylor Townsend.

But it was the hilarity in the showpiece match that stole the show as Agassi teased Alcaraz about his age saying that he looked like he was 12. “How about everything Carlos has accomplished at… you’re like 12 right? How old are you?” to which Alcaraz replied laughing saying: "Eleven."

While McEnroe had some incredible words for Djokovic lauding the 24-time Grand Slam champion and hugging him. “What you’ve done for our sport, and what you just accomplished the last couple months, particularly Olympics, thank you man, for being part of this sport.”

Djokovic also singled out Alcaraz and joked about the Spaniard letting him have the gold. “I told Carlos at the net when we finished the final that I was very grateful to him for letting me win the gold. He’s probably going to have like 3 gold medals before he retires.” Prime Time Entertainment both on and off the court.
