We haven't seen much of Carlos Alcaraz since his disappointing exit from the French Open where cramps completely overwhelmed him leaving him unable to take on Djokovic.
It was a disappointing ending for the Spaniard who was favoured to possibly win the event. The match against Djokovic for many was the one that would have determined who would win the event and it ended up that way. The match itself was really good, Alcaraz just made it 1-1 after a brutal set but the consequence of that was heavy cramps that didn't stop making it impossible for Alcaraz to play the way he wanted to play.
Djokovic cruised to a comfortable finish ending up as the Roland Garros champion. Speaking after the match, Alcaraz confirmed that there was a combination of nerves and pressure that got to him in the end but that's a great learning experience. Now it's time to turn his attention to the grass season, a surface which many consider his weakest by far.
The Spaniard can play well on it bet he needs a bit more matches on it and experience. He will get that at the Cinch Championships at the famous Queen's Club tennis club next week. He was supposed to play there last year but was prevented due to an injury but he'll be there this time around.
Posting a mini-update on social media, Alcaraz tagged the event's Twitter page adding a soon emoji next to it. It's good news for fans and it's very good for him to get some matches ahead of Wimbledon. Grass tennis is fairly straight forward but you need matches to get used to the timing and everything else. He showed some promise last year but didn't play well enough to seriously challenge for the trophy.
Maybe this year.
