Carlos Alcaraz showed again that his only goal from now until the end of the year is to steal the number 1 from Novak Djokovic and that he is going to give everything in every tournament he plays. He defeated Casper Ruud in straight sets (6-4/6-2) at the China Open.
Alcaraz started with great intensity in the tie, very aggressive to the rest, but faltered as Ruud took a 2-0 lead. But he recovered the break and turned the score around in the first set and took it 6-4.
In the third game of the second set Alcaraz returned to put the pressure on and returned to break the serve of Ruud who could not hurt Alcaraz in any way.
In the following games both players held their serves until it was 4-2 for Carlitos. Then the Murcian was again more aggressive on Ruud's serve and went 5-2 up serving to win and move on to the next round in Beijing.
