Alexander Zverev is still trying to get back to his best form and today's win over a very solid Lehecka is a good start towards that goal 4-6 6-3 6-4.
The German has been up and down from the start of the year which was expected after he missed more than six months of tennis due to a gruesome ankle injury. He's back in the winning column after beating a very solid
Jiri Lehecka who had a strong run in Doha last week and generally is playing really well.
The Czech player actually won the first set by being aggressive and it worked out in his favour. Zverev upped his level in the second set and he was able to stay in the match. Eventually, Lehecka started to miss more and more and that was enough for the German to take the lead and the set after that 6-3.
A huge part of Zverev's turnaround was the serve as Lehecka was not getting the same looks he had in the first set which made things harder for him. Zverev continued to play well in the second set taking a break relatively early. Lehecka countered with even more aggressive tennis but it didn't go that well.
He di dbreak back and make it 4-4 but then he threw it all away with a couple of errors and Zverev took it 6-4.
