British tennis star
Andy Murray may have hung up his racket following the 2024
Olympic Games, but the former World No.1 has maintained his sense of humor as seen in the changes made to his Twitter bio.
The three-time Grand Slam champion bid farewell to the sport he loves after losing in the quarterfinals of the Olympics, teaming with compatriot Dan Evans to compete in the doubles event. After announcing his intended retirement from tennis earlier this year, Murray was overcome emotional as he walked off the court for the final time in his distinguished career.
Murray maintains dry wit, has fun with Twitter handles
The 37-year old has been known for his sense of humor off the court, and wasted little time in expressing his thoughts at retirement soon after his final professional match. The former British No.1 humorously posted a statement claiming he "never even liked tennis anyway" before changing his Twitter bio from "I play tennis" to "I played tennis."
However, Murray took it further this week when he made more modifications to his bio.
"I now play golf," was the latest amendment made to his Twitter handle.
Murray had spoken about his interest in golf during the Olympics. Based off his heart and athletic prowess, it will come as no surprise if the Glasgow native becomes involved in the sport in some fashion in the near future.
