Following Elon Musk's takeover of Twitter, several tennis stars seem to have lost some followers with
Andy Murray being close to the top of the list. However, the Brit doesn't appeared too bothered by the movement.
Tesla founder Elon Musk purchased the social media platform in a whooping $44 billion dollar deal, in which he promised to remove any censorship from the platform. However, numerous people claim to have lost followers since the announcement of the deal, with several tennis stars being among the affected.
Recently, a Twitter handle released a list of a fall in the number of followers of prominent tennis athletes. The list was topped by
Serena Williams, who has lost 3,694 followers now. It was followed by Martina Navratilova with 1,656 and
Naomi Osaka with 1,435. Andy Murray was next in line, losing 1,122 followers as of now.
Nonetheless, Murray seemed to take it in stride. The three-time Grand Slam champion responded to the post with a dig at himself, implying that the drop in followers could be due to a lack of creativity on his part.
"May also be because our content is sh*t," wrote Murray in response to the post.
The former World No.1 received a wildcard to the
Madrid Open, and has been seen practicing on clay as the event kicks off next month.
