Andy Murray continued his unbeaten run on grass adding the
Nottingham Open trophy to his tally following the Surbiton win last week.
Murray is undefeated this year on grass with the Brit now having now a 10-0 record on the surface following two weeks of the grass season. He played the Surbiton challenger and the Nottingham challenger beating all of his opponents to win back-to-back trophies. This match was a pretty fair one as he was facing a young player that hasn't had a lot of experience on grass.
It certainly showed in the match as Murray knew exactly what to do to win. He didn't push himself too much but rather cruised comfortably towards the finish line. He lost only one set in those 10 matches and while most of those players aren't at the top of tennis, it's still an impressive run by the Brit.
He'll also take part in the Queen's Club event where he'll face Alex de Minaur on Tuesday. That's the best-ranked player he'll face this year on grass and a proper test. If he managed to win that match and make it 11 in a row then people will start taking him a bit more seriously for Wimbledon. He has big plans of making a deep run at the event though there was a lot of doubt about whether he could do so.
It looks silly to doubt him after these events and he's a former champion of the event. He's actually the only player that will take part at Wimbledon to have ever beaten Novak Djokovic on a grass court. Fans would love to see their match once again and perhaps we get to see it at Wimbledon. It would be quite a nice throwback and perhaps a really competitive match considering Murray's recent form.
