Britain’s tennis star Andy Murray’s draw fate was confirmed
for the Challengers event in Bordeaux. The 36-year-old has struggled with
fitness concerns throughout his career and it was because of this reason, he decided
to retire from the sport just after the 2018 Australian Open.
However, Murray made a miraculous comeback after a while and
is still playing at the highest level. The Glasgow-born star once again
suffered an ankle injury in March which ruled him out of action for a few
months. That injury sparked rumours about the future of the two-time Olympic gold
medalist. The three-time Grand Slam winner is now set to return to action with
an ATP Challengers event in the French city of Bordeaux.
According to the official draw made on Monday, Murray will
face the qualifier in the opening round of the competition. Interestingly, the
tournament also features the likes of Switzerland’s Stan Wawrinka and France’s Arthur
Fils. It was also reported earlier that Murray will also participate in the ATP
250 event in Geneva in order to prepare for the French Open. The former world
number one is also expected to take part in the double category with Dan Evans during
the Roland Garros.
