The ATP Ranking has been updated today, Monday, October 23, with Novak Djokovic still firmly in the lead while Ben Shelton and Gael Monfils make some major moves following their recent victories on the ATP Tour.
World No. 1 Djokovic has maintained a huge lead over his rival Carlos Alcaraz despite having not competed since the US Open in September. His victory at Flushing Meadows helped him to build up a lead of around 3,000 points over the World No. 2, but Alcaraz was still determined to try and catch him before the end of the year.
However, after failing to win any titles or make any finals on the Asian Swing, Alcaraz has 8,805 points, which is still 2,240 less than the 24-time Grand Slam champion.
There was little movement throughout the Top 10 this week, with the only change being that Taylor Fritz and Alexander Zverev switched places, moving up to No. 9 and down to No. 10 respectively.

Shelton and Monfils rise with victories

Meanwhile, 21-year-old Shelton has continued his rise up the rankings this week following his victory at the ATP 500 Japan Open in Tokyo. The American originally soared to No. 19 after he reached the semi-finals of the US Open last month and now he has broken into the Top 15 with 2,355 points.
This puts him just five places away from the Top 10, but he is still over 1000 points below Zverev's 3,460. Shelton's opponent in the final at the Ariake Coliseum, Aslan Karatsev, has also leaped from No. 50 to No. 37.
Moreover, former World No. 6 Monfils has re-entered the Top 100 after achieving victory at the ATP Stockholm Open. The French player saw a meteoric rise of 51 places to land at No. 89 with 682 points. This made him the best mover in the Top 100.
Monfils defeated Pavel Kotov in the final of the ATP 250 tournament. The latter player's deep run saw him rise 28 places for a career-best ranking of No. 81.
Alexander Bublik also rose six spots to No. 30 after his victory in the final of the European Open in Antwerp.
Elsewhere, Felix Auger-Aliassime looks at risk of dropping out of the Top 20 after he fell two places to No. 19. Matteo Berrettini was the worst mover in the Top 100 as the Italian player, who has had to deal with a lot of injury troubles this season, fell 27 spots to No. 90.
