Jack Draper is the Indian Wells champion after taking down Holger Rune on Sunday. But how does that affect the ATP Rankings? Our update as ever has the answers as we look ahead to Miami.

Draper is up seven spots to World No.7 after sealing the title in California, he is up to a new career high. He also sits in a position that Mirra Andreeva his fellow champion is in. He can only realistically gain and so likely will tag on to the leading four at some point in the coming months.

A player who has had real injury issues in the past few years and always had potential is now achieving it with a Dubai final and Indian Wells win. But he won't be displacing the World No.1 yet.

While for Jannik Sinner, he actually gains as World No.1 despite not playing. He won't play until at least May when he returns at the Italian Open in Rome due to serving a doping suspension.

But Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz both failed in their bid to unseat him despite especially for the former having it there on a plate. Zverev lost early in the tournament and Alcaraz failed to repeat the feat as champion.

Zverev and Alcaraz have also failed to make up much ground over the past month. The former has not played well even by his own admission since losing to Sinner at the Australian Open. Alcaraz won the ATP 500 in Rotterdam but lost earlier than expected both in Doha and at Indian Wells.

Carlos Alcaraz gave up points over gaining on Sinner.

Sinner had over a 3,500 lead over Zverev and 4,300 lead over Alcaraz when he began his suspension but now he sits in a unique position where he will gain instead of losing.

Novak Djokovic has also gained. He is up two spots to fifth. While Ruud and Medvedev in sixth and eighth have dropped. Andrey Rublev, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alex de Minaur now sit from 9th-11th after all falling. While Holger Rune is up a sole spot after losing in the final to Draper.

Arthur Fils made the bold choice to get rid of his coach after reaching his maiden ATP 1000 Quarter-Final. He is up three spots into World No.18 with many around him being close so moving up is likely for the Frenchman. Other big winners include Tallon Griekspoor who moves up nine spots to World No.34.

Away from California and into Phoenix, Joao Fonseca is up 20 spots to World No.60 while Kei Nishikori is up 12 spots to World No.64.
