The ATP Ranking have been updated following the National Bank Canadian Open with Carlos Alcaraz back in battle against Novak Djokovic for the top spot.
World No. 1 Alcaraz finds himself in danger of dropping to second position after a disappointing run for him in Toronto. The Spaniard was defeated in the quarter-finals, meaning he gains 170 points to make his total 9,395.
His position has been secure recently, but the threat from Djokovic is back at the Cincinnati Open this week. Alcaraz can retain his position even if the Serb wins the tournament, but he will have to reach the final to do so.

Sinner and Rune rise in rankings

Meanwhile, Holger Rune has broken into the top 5 for the first time, as Casper Ruud drops to seventh. The 20-year-old was defeated in his opening round at the Canadian Open but only lost 35 points, leaving him at 4,790.
Furthermore, after winning his first Masters 1000 title in Toronto, Sinner gained 910 points and moved up to sixth with 4,725 points.
Outside the top 10, Alex de Minaur moved up six places to twelfth after reaching his first Masters 1000 final in Canada, gaining 510 points to total 2,595.
At the same time, Stefanos Tsitsipas is at risk of losing his place at world No. 4. The Greek player could drop as low as No. 8 or No. 9, but this will also depend on how the other top-ranked players perform.
Elsewhere, Adrian Mannarino dropped out of the top 30, landing at No. 32, switching places with Sebastian Korda.
