ATP Rankings Update: Jannik Sinner closes in on Carlos Alcaraz on all-time list as Denis Shapovalov shines

The ATP Rankings have been updated for yet another week with Rotterdam and Dallas taking top billing. Jannik Sinner didn't play in the Dutch city and didn't defend his points but still heads closer to the prior milestone set by the winner Carlos Alcaraz.

Sinner will close in during the coming months on one year as World No.1 having sealed it in June last year. He has moved to 36 weeks in total on the all-time list drawing level with Carlos Alcaraz. They are now joint 16th as a result.

The Italian though as a result will move ahead of Alcaraz next week. Ilie Nastase and Andy Murray at just past 40 weeks are also in his sights as he will remain as World No.1 until at least March.

Sinner still has a lead of 3,695 points ahead of Alexander Zverev while Alcaraz is 625 behind in third. Alcaraz made ground up by winning Rotterdam adding 500 points to his tally as he lifted his maiden indoor title with victory over De Minaur in the final.

De Minaur is now up and past Novak Djokovic into World No.6 and chances are he will in fact pass Casper Ruud to become World No.5 by the time the clay court season is in full swing.

Denis Shapovalov though was the big winner this past weekend. He moved into the top 50 as he surged 22 spots to World No.32 with the biggest title of his career, the Dallas Open. Jaume Munar reached the Quarter-Finals in Dallas also and is up 11 spots to World No.52 while Mattia Bellucci is also up 24 spots to World No.68.
