ATP Rankings Update: Jannik Sinner ties Ilie Nastase as 15th most weeks as World No.1

The ATP Rankings may not technically be updated for another week due to Indian Wells still being ongoing but Jannik Sinner has reached a new milestone despite being off the court currently.

Sinner cannot defend his Sunshine Double haul as he is currently off the court until at least May. The Italian currently sits as 15th all time though as of this week and will also tie another legendary player next week as he ascends towards at least likely 13th before he returns.

He sits alongside Romanian ace Ilie Nastase on 40 weeks all time. Andy Murray is next up who is currently on 41 weeks. Then it will be Guga Kuerten who is next on the list for the Italian. He sits on 43 weeks.

It was nearly under threat for Sinner who had Alexander Zverev potentially breathing down his next but a poor Golden Swing followed by an early exit at the 2025 Indian Wells Open paid heed to any potential dreams of becoming World No.1.

While it remains a possibility that Sinner will not be World No.1 soon after his return, he will currently lead the way right now. Jim Courier would be a long way next up on 58 weeks so would need a Sinner surge on his return to reach 12th all time. The top 10 is 80 weeks with Lleyton Hewitt.

Other than that it remains unchanged with the changes below still mirroring pre tournament which saw Andrey Rublev and Stefanos Tsitsipas surge back into the top 10.

On the live ranking currently, Djokovic ironically despite losing early is back into the top five. This due to Daniil Medvedev currently falling three spots. Rises also for Jack Draper and Arthur Fils into their respective career highs. Albeit with a lot of the tournament still to go, how that shakes out remains to be seen.
