Entry List Charleston Open 2025: Jessica Pegula, Madison Keys, Emma Navarro, Zheng Qinwen and Danielle Collins lead

The WTA 500 Charleston Open (March 29 - 6 April 2025) is shaping up its main draw with six top-15 players, including three top-10 stars on the Entry List now confirmed.

It is featuring some of the biggest American names: Jessica Pegula, Madison Keys, and Emma Navarro. The Spaniard former world No. 2 Paula Badosa join among the tournament’s headliners.

Further players have now been confirmed for the event: Russia’s Daria Kasatkina (No. 12) and Danielle Collins (No. 14), both of whom have been in the top 10 in recent months and will arrive in Charleston with high ambitions. Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold medalist Belinda Bencic has also confirmed her participation.

2024 finalists Kasatkina and Collins return to Charleston

One of the most traditional tournaments in the U.S., Charleston has been played since 1973 and is currently held at the Daniel Island Tennis Center on outdoor clay. With a 64-player draw, four confirmed players are former champions. In fact, Danielle Collins and Daria Kasatkina, announced today, were the 2024 finalists, with the American claiming the title.

Kasatkina previously won Charleston in 2017, just like other confirmed names: Madison Keys (2019), Belinda Bencic (2022), and Collins last year. The Charleston Open is one of the opening events of the clay swing, played the week after the Miami Open, making it a great stop after the Sunshine Double and before heading to the European clay tournaments.

The tournament organizers expressed their excitement about welcoming back two former champions who remain key players on the WTA Tour.“We’re excited to welcome back our 2024 champion and finalist for this year’s tournament,” said Bob Moran, President of Beemok Sports & Entertainment. “Danielle and Daria put on a fantastic final last year, and it’s great to have both back in Charleston.”

As well as those names. Emma Navarro who's father runs the tournament as well as Zheng Qinwen, Diana Shnaider, Beatriz Haddad Maia and Amanda Anisimova will in fact be involved.

Maria Sakkari, Anna Kalinskaya, Ashlyn Krueger, Peyton Stearns, McCartney Kessler are also among the entrants in what is a stacked field for post Indian Wells and Miami.

Both Collins and Kasatkina left messages for fans after confirming their return to Charleston for the start of the clay swing. “After a 2024 season that I’m very proud of, I have decided to return to defend my title at the Credit One Charleston Open,” said Collins, who also won the doubles title in 2023. “Winning this event last year was an unforgettable moment, and the energy and love from the fans in Charleston made it even more special.”

Meanwhile, Russia’s ‘Dasha’ Kasatkina reflected on how special Charleston is for her. Undoubtedly, it's one of her most successful tournaments, where she holds an 18-4 record and has reached the quarterfinals in all five of her appearances.“Charleston has always been a special place for me. After winning in 2017 and reaching the final in 2024, I’m looking forward to returning this year,” she said.

“I really love playing in front of the amazing fans there – their support means a lot to me. I’m excited to be back to compete on the green clay, a surface that I feel really comfortable on,” the 27-year-old Russian star concluded.
