The first day of the Battle of the Brits saw a successful return to court for Andy Murray for the first time in seven months as well as victories for Kyle Edmund and Dan Evans.
Wednesday sees proceedings continue with a big tie set to take place between two former British Number Ones in Murray and Edmund.
For the former, he looked assured against
Liam Broady showing some emotion on court in his celebrations and producing some stunning shots as he eased through; but in Edmund who when his rust went away yesterday looked great against James Ward, it will be a true test of his current game.
Edmund has been exceptional for most of the year winning in New York before Coronavirus hit and will be among the favourites to lift the
Battle of the Brits title, can he produce a big win to fulfil those ambitions.
Due to Jay Clarke withdrawing after soreness in his knee and Ryan Peniston playing Cam Norrie later on in the schedule, the doubles match starts proceedings off.
Experienced pair
Joe Salisbury and Jonny O'Mara will make their debuts in the tournament against Peniston and Dom Inglot who lost out in their opener to
Kyle Edmund and James Ward who themselves were a last minute pairing.
Then it is Liam Broady and James Ward in a battle of the losing players from the opening day. Followed by the aforementioned tie between Peniston who replaced Jack Draper and Cam Norrie who will get his tournament up and running.
Finally after Edmund and Murray. Broady and Norrie who produced a shock win against Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski on the opening day will take on
Dan Evans and doubles specialist Lloyd Glasspool. A quality day of action awaits.
