Laver Cup 2024. The Spaniard defeated
Ben Shelton 6-4, 6-4, in a match that was tougher than the scoreboard showed.
Thus, Carlitos returns the tie to the overall score of the Laver Cup, now 4-4 after the defeat of
Daniil Medvedev against Frances Tiafoe in the super tie break and this last triumph of the Spaniard.
Alcaraz struggled to win the first set

The next game was to be the longest of the set by far. Carlitos had up to 5 break balls, before getting the first break of the match in his sixth opportunity. The Spaniard was 4-3 and serving in search of confirming the break. Although he faced a break ball, Alcaraz managed to win his service game and make it 5-3, which he would turn into 6-4 to take the first set with a game in white.
The second set was quickly put on track by Alcaraz
In the second set, the set started in the best possible way for Carlos Alcaraz. In his first break point, the Spaniard broke Ben Shelton's serve, looking for the 0-2 that he was going to get after confirming the break with his serve;
Alcaraz was keeping the advantage winning his service games with relative ease, until at 5-4 and serving, the Spaniard closed the match 6-4 in the second set. In this way, Carlitos returned the tie to the overall of the Laver Cup, now 4-4.
