"He's capable of doing amazing things": Casper Ruud praises Laver Cup teammate Carlos Alcaraz

Norway’s tennis star Casper Ruud has praised his Laver Cup teammate Spain’s young sensation Carlos Alcaraz. The two-team event has finally started on Friday in Berlin, Germany where some of the top players in the world are participating to showcase their talent and secure the ultimate prize.
Ruud is also taking part in the event where he is representing Team Europe. One of his teammates is Alcaraz. The three-time Grand Slam winner spoke to Spanish media outlet Puntodebreak where he praised the current world number three.
Ruud was of the opinion that spending time with someone like Alcaraz, who is already regarded as one of the best players in the world alongside Italy’s Jannik Sinner and Serbia’s Novak Djokovic, is a ‘great’ opportunity for him and also expressed optimism that the young Spaniard will go on to achieve great things in the sprot because ‘incredible’ talent.
“I can't say anything but positive things about Carlos,” he said. “Having the opportunity to spend time with him this week is great because he's a fantastic guy. What he's doing is incredible, having a young man like him is great news for tennis. He's capable of doing amazing things on the court, he has a talent rarely seen in this sport and I have great admiration for him because what he's doing has spectacular merit. I hope he can continue to improve and be able to beat him in future battles, but I hope he continues to have great success for many years to come.”
Ruud participated in the singles category contest on Friday in the Laver Cup where he ended up on the losing side to Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo in straight sets with a score of 6-4, 6-4. On the other hand, Alcaraz also featured on the day but in the doubles category. He and his partner Germany’s Alexander Zverev lost to the Team World’s pair of Ben Shelton and Taylor Fritz in straight sets with a score of 7-6, 6-4.
