The Next Big Three in tennis are Carlos Alcaraz, Holger Rune and Jannik Sinner if Novak Djokovic is anything to go by. But also he issued an ominous warning that they will have to raise their game to send him packing from the sport.
Djokovic won the ATP Finals defeating a member of that designated new Big Three in Jannik Sinner as well as the other two at times en route. But in high praise he said that they will be the next big names.
But also that he will remain in the sport as long as they aren't beating him up on the court and that he would have a break whether short-term or permanent when that happens. So the gauntlet has officially been sent out.
“Carlos, Jannik, & Holger are the big three.. the next big three, if you want to call them. They are going to carry this sport. I will hang on for as long as I feel like hanging on, as long as I'm able to win against them on the big stage.
"I'll still keep going because why stop if you're still winning the biggest titles. Once they start to kick my butt, then I will consider probably having a little break or maybe a permanent break from professional tennis.”
