Two players who won their first matches in Milan faced off as Alcaraz took Nakashima and despite a slow start, the Spaniard was able to emerge victorious 4-3(3) 4-1 4-3(4).
Carlos Alcaraz arrived in Milan in very good form and the Spaniard is the player many consider to be the best at the
Next Gen ATP Finals. So far his play has been the best one by far as the Spaniard notched his 2nd win at the event. Today's opponent was
Brandon Nakashima, a player who won a match already as well but despite being competitive early the American simply did not have enough.
Alcaraz got off to a slow start in this match having to save an early break point but after successfully doing that the Spaniard only got better. Nakashima serve well and kept his serve for the majority of the first set which sent us to a tiebreak at 3-3. In it, it was Alcaraz that brought his devastating forehand to the party and the American was not able to overcome that.
7-3 was the result for Alcaraz who took the early set. Boosted by that win the Spaniard continued playing very good tennis causing a lot of problems for Nakashima with his forehand. The Spaniard attacked at every opportunity and most of the time he was successful. That resulted in another convincing win 4-1 to take the 2nd set.
The final set was a lot more competitive than the 2nd one despite Alcaraz being able to take an early break point. Nakashima had break points of his own and he converted them to turn a 2-1 deficit into a 3-2 lead. It was settled in the tiebreak where Alcaraz once again proved better.
