Filip Krajinovic was on the verge of winning the opening set but the Spaniard battled back to take the match in straight sets 7-6(4) 6-3.
Alcaraz played better than in round one but once again far from his best as the Spaniard is finding his way on clay again. It's nothing unusual and nothing worrisome, especially if keps winning matches. Krajinovic was able to take advantage of that slow start to take an early break and he held it until 5-4. In the game where he served for the set, Krajinovic faced his first issues.
15-40 down with two break points for Alcaraz which the Serbian saved. After that, he was able to create two sets point but converted neither as Alcaraz broke his serve for the 5-5 score. Eventually, we ended up in a tiebreak where Krajinovci had a 4-2 lead but lost 5 points in a row to drop it 4-7.
In the 2nd set, Alcaraz found his groove and quickly created a double break lead 4-1. He lost one break in the next game after some sloppy play. Both players finished off the match with some solid play and Alcaraz got the 6-3 2nd set win.
