Further fears are evident for
Carlos Alcaraz ahead of his campaign at the
Monte-Carlo Masters starting later this week. He will face Felix Auger-Aliassime, a tie that has been confirmed today.
But he may not make it that far. Alcaraz showed discomfort in his right forearm on Sunday and cut short his session and this was supposedly worse on Monday. Showing the issue could be more serious than thought, he couldn't bring his usual intensity.
As per TVA Sports, Alcaraz seemed to have visible discomfort in his forearm while training and kept his intensity to a minimum. He didn't hit as many forehands and used the slice on most of his shots. He also sent his forearms into the net and couldn't hold his racquet properly.
Now all eyes will be on the Alcaraz camp with the Spaniard only playing the tournament once before and withdrawing due to physical discomfort last year. So it could be said that he is likely set not to play this year either. One to keep an eye on no doubt.
