Casper Ruud is fighting for a place in Turin at the ATP Finals and the Norwegian will join fellow Laver Cup participants at the 2021 Stockholm Open.
Casper Ruud is enjoying a breakout season that saw him break into the top 10 for the first time in his career. The Norwegian is a known clay-court specialist but he recently showed that he is more than capable of winning tennis matches on hard courts. The Norwegian now elected to participate at the 2021 Stockholm Open which will run from November 7th till November 13th.
The event is the final ATP 250 event of the year being held one week after the Paris Masters and one week before the ATP Finals in Turin. For many players, it will be the final opportunity to gain some valuable points and for Ruud who is fighting for a spot in Turin, it could prove crucial.
Another player who will play in Stockholm is Denis Shapovalov as the Canadian is also fighting for a spot in Turin as is Alexander Zverev who will also attend. There is a possibility some of them might withdraw from the event but as it stands the event will have a very strong field, much better than usual which should make Swedish tennis fans happy.
