Casper Ruud is emerging this year and the Norwegian offered his perspective on the
Roger Federer,
Novak Djokovic and
Rafael Nadal debate.
Casper Ruud is in Mallorca taking part in the
Mallorca Championships but while talking to the media also talked the never-ending GOAT race. Ruud is not a player that enjoys clay but he does enjoy Mallorca where he trained for a long time at Nadal's Academy.
Ruud has always shown an affinity for Nadal and his playstyle which is something Ruud is trying to emulate. The Norwegian loves the clay the most so there is a connection there as well. Asked about it he said:
"It's a very difficult question because each of the three has different reasons to be considered the best. What Nadal did is special, because winning thirteen times in a tournament like the Roland Garros is incredible."
With that response, Ruud pretty much confirmed he preferred Nadal to the other two but he also added:
"All three are very good, and are among the ten or fifteen best in history. I'm not just talking about the world of tennis, but about sport in general."
