Carlos Alcaraz will face Novak Djokovic for a spot in the Roland Garros (French Open) final and his coach believes that the Spaniard has a chance to beat him.
Alcaraz and Djokovic have played only once so far and it happened last year at the Madrid Open. It was a good and close match with Alcaraz winning it in three sets. He would end up winning the event after that and many assume that something similar will happen this year. The winner of this matchup will be the favourite in the final regardless of who comes out on the other side so it will be a very important match for both players.
Speakign about the matchup: the coach of Alcaraz Ferrero broke it down:
"I don't think there is advantage. I think both players are maybe the best in the world right now. Novak has the experience to play these kind of matches more than Carlos, of course, but at the same time Carlos really wants to play that match. He was really looking forward to that match since the beginning."
Alcaraz is supremely confident in hsi ability to beat Djokovic and he has no doubts about getting it done. His coach kind of thinks the same:
"He wants to do it, but of course, we really know that Novak is going to give absolutely his best. He is 22 Grand Slam champion. I think he is going to fight until the last ball, and he is going to prepare the match as well as we can do. So we expect really tough and close match. As I said, Carlos believes a lot in himself, and he believes that he can beat Novak. Then we'll see. I think they both have an amazing level."
We'll see what happens but it will be a great day on Friday in Paris.
