Novak Djokovic has been officially confirmed as part of Team Serbia for the quarter-finals of the Davis Cup.
The Final 8 of the prestigious team tournament will take place in Malaga from November 12-17. At the event, Canada will take on Finland, Czechia will face Australia, and Italy will play against the Netherlands while Serbia will be up against Great Britain.
The World No. 1 had already promised that he would be available for the last 8, and now it is clear that he has kept his word.

Djokovic aims to help Team Serbia to another victory

Djokovic will aim to help lead Team Serbia to another victory at the Davis Cup after winning the trophy for the first and only time in 2010, defeating France 3:2 in the final. They finished as runner-up to the Czech Republic in 2013 and won the inaugural ATP Cup in 2020.
As well as Djokovic, this year's Davis Cup team for Serbia will consist of Laslo Djere, Dusan Lajovic, Miomir Kecmanovic, and rising talent Hamad Medjedovic. They will take on Great Britain's team made up of Cameron Norrie, Dan Evans, Andy Murray, Jack Draper and Neal Skupski.
Djokovic has previously spoken about how much he loves having a chance to play for his country and recently stated that his "greatest desire is to win the Davis Cup."
The 36-year-old was quoted saying that the competition against Great Britain would be "tough" but that he was excited for the younger generation to feel "the honor and privilege" of playing for their country.
"It will be very difficult, tense. If [Dan] Evans plays he is a very awkward player for anyone. However, I believe in our guys. We also have a lot of choices, maybe not for the doubles, but for the singles. The motivation is present in me, as well as in all the other guys from the national team.
"The cult of the national team must exist among the younger generation and they simply feel the honor and privilege when they play for their country. It's the way I grew up and what we cultivated in the past generation," he said.
