In a new Daily Dose of Social Media, ATP and WTA stars finalize their last preparations for Roland Garros. Aryna Sabalenka and Carlos Alcaraz met on the Philippe Chatrier courts and took a selfie together, showcasing their good relationship off the court.
On another note, four-time French Open champion Iga Swiatek trained with an ATP colleague: Chile's Alejandro Tabilo. Additionally, Katie Boulter and Alex De Minaur shared some fun photos from their days in Paris, while Jessica Pegula lamented a difficult personal moment she experienced after a close loss.

Alcaraz and Sabalenka share a laugh and a selfie at Roland Garros

Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka crossed paths on Philippe Chatrier this Friday. As the world No. 1 was finishing her practice session, the Spaniard emerged onto the main court to begin his practice with Francisco Cerúndolo, and the good relationship between the two multi-Grand Slam champions was evident.
Alcaraz, carrying a modern camera in his bag, took a selfie with Sabalenka. The photo was instantly developed, and the top seed left for the locker rooms with a nice memento alongside the reigning French Open champion. The moment was captured on social media, showing them laughing and enjoying themselves before posing for the picture.
Alcaraz and Sabalenka will be among the first to debut in the tournament because their respective halves of the draw will start during the first two days, as dictated by the French Open organizers. At the conclusion of his practice, Juan Carlos Ferrero's protégé warmly greeted Jannik Sinner, a reunion after their Rome Open final last week and between the two big favorites for the Roland Garros title.

Iga Swiatek practices with Alejandro Tabilo at Roland Garros

Iga Swiatek had an ATP Tour sparring partner for her latest practice session: none other than Chile's Alejandro Tabilo, who returns to competition this week after an injury. The left-hander burst into the spotlight after a strong 2024 (presumably 2024 in the original text meant this season, given the context of Rome semifinal and recent Djokovic win) that saw him reach the semifinals at the Rome Open, defeating Novak Djokovic along the way. Earlier this year in Monte-Carlo, a month ago, he again overcame Djokovic, extending their head-to-head to 2-0.
Today, the Polish star thanked Tabilo for being her practice partner at Roland Garros, shortly before she steps onto the court to defend the title she has won three consecutive times. "I'm dead, thanks for the practice @tabilo97" wrote Swiatek on her Instagram stories, which was reposted by the Chilean. Earlier in the morning, Tabilo had already shared a photo after his practice with his friend Denis Shapovalov, a Canadian he has known since their junior days, as Tabilo was trained in and represented Canada during his junior career.

Jessica Pegula shares heartfelt tribute to og Dexter after his passing

Jessica Pegula shared a heartfelt tribute to her dog, Dexter, after revealing his passing. The American posted on social media, including several photos of her beloved pet, expressing her grief. "A few days ago we had to say goodbye to our boy Dexter very suddenly. His favorite thing in the whole world was tennis. Chasing tennis balls and chasing serves. I love you so much. Everyone give your doggies extra treats tonight. We truly don't deserve them."
The American is preparing to compete at Roland Garros after a few inconsistent weeks. In both the Madrid Open and Rome Open, she managed only one win in each, being eliminated in the Round of 32 in both tournaments. An even greater disappointment came with her first-round exit at the WTA 500 Strasbourg Open this week against Anna Kalinskaya. Nevertheless, Pegula will be the 4th seed at Roland Garros and will make her debut against talented Romanian Anca Todoni in the first round this Sunday.

De Minaur & Boulter's parisian arrival: Eiffel tower, pizza, and playful banter

Alex De Minaur and Katie Boulter shared photos of their arrival in Paris. The Australian posted a picture with the Eiffel Tower and some training snaps, along with a sweet photo with his fiancée Boulter. The British No. 1 also took to social media to update fans on her whereabouts. She shared a funny pic of herself eating pizza at a Parisian restaurant, writing, "Where ever she goes Italy goes with her 🍕". The post even received a playful response from De Minaur, who joked about not getting credit for the photo: "No tag for the photographer… that’s tough…. 😢"

Krejcikova returns to Roland Garros after injury layoff, Optimistic for comeback

Barbora Krejcikova is preparing for her return to Roland Garros this week, following a year plagued by injuries that have largely kept her from competing throughout the season. The 2021 French Open champion (note: the original text says 2022, but Krejcikova won in 2021) had her first competition of the year just last week at the Strasbourg Open, where she suffered a first-round defeat to Magda Linette. She also lost in the first round of women's doubles, where she partnered with Linda Noskova, falling to Xu Yifan and Cristina Bucsa.
The two-time Grand Slam champion from the Czech Republic is the only player who has interrupted Swiatek's dominant run at Roland Garros. She, along with Jelena Ostapenko, are the three former champions set to compete in the tournament. Krejcikova shared optimistic photos upon her arrival in Paris, where she hopes to rediscover her game after nearly six months away from competition.
