A host of superstars revealed their Greatest of All Times
players outside the world of tennis in a video posted on social media platform X
— previously known as Twitter.
The video was recorded during the ongoing ATP 1000 Shanghai
Masters which will be concluding on Sunday with a final between Russia’s Andrey
Rublev and Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz.
America’s Tommy Paul,
Ben Shelton, and Greece’s tennis star Stefanos
Tsitsipas ended up picking former NBA star Michael Jordan as the GOAT player
outside tennis.
Italy’s Jannik Sinner named another basketball legend Kobe
Bryant as his greatest player outside the world of tennis.
America’s
Sebastian Korda ended up picking American golfer
Tiger Woods in response to that question.
The most detailed answer was given by two players—Russia’s Daniil
Medvedev and Argentina’s Diego Schwartzman.
Medvedev picked Portugal’s star striker Cristiano Ronaldo
along with Argentina’s legendary footballer Lionel Messi as his GOAT players.
"Just because I like soccer, I would say Cristiano and
Messi, together combined is the GOAT. Let's do it this way. I need to say
something," he said.
On the other hand, Schwartzman ended up picking his fellow
countrymen Messi and late Diego Maradona as the greatest players outside the
world of tennis.
"The GOAT? Outside [of tennis]? Messi and Maradona.
Easy question! Argentinian, Messi and Maradona. The Double M," he said.
