Nakashima reaches the semi-finals of an ATP tournament for the fourth time this season and returns to the top 30.
Jodar completes stunning comeback against Musetti

Tabilo ends Shelton comeback hopes in Washington

Alejandro Tabilo has completed a major comeback victory over Ben Shelton to reach the DC Open semi-finals, overcoming the American after nearly three hours of momentum swings. The Chilean recovered after dropping the opening set, staying competitive in the longer rallies and repeatedly applying pressure on Shelton’s backhand, eventually forcing the errors that decided the match in the final stages.

The Chilean raised his level in the second set and produced one of the most important holds of the contest at 5-4, saving four break points after falling behind 0-40 before turning the pressure back on Shelton. Shelton moved ahead after breaking for a 3-2 lead, but Tabilo responded immediately and continued attacking the American’s backhand side. With the score level at 4-4, the Chilean held his nerve, took advantage of Shelton’s mistakes and closed out the victory to secure a place in the Washington semi-finals, where he will face Rafael Jodar.
Tabilo reached his second ATP 500 semi-final - after finishing as runner-up in the Rio Open 2026.
