Novak Djokovic is through to the semi-finals at the Japan Open after easing past Lucas Pouille in 50 minutes.

Djokovic was in dominant form throughout seeing off the Frenchman 6-1, 6-2. The top seed is back towards his best after his US Open retirement and he has now reached semi-finals in six of his past seven tournaments.
In victory he hit 61 per cent of his return points, including 77 per cent win-rate on second-serve returns. Overall in Tokyo he has not dropped a set and doesn’t look like he will any time soon; also claiming breaks of serve 12 times.
He will next face either David Goffin or Hyeon Chung in what is a tough test for either given Djokovic’s performance.
