Andy Murray is out of the China Open in Beijing but with a lot to take home from the Asian hard court swing after losing to Dominic Thiem.

Murray was always going to be up against it versus the top seed and World No.5, a winner at Indian Wells this year and a French Open finalist but it was an intriguing contest.
This is because Murray had done so well to get to this point and his comeback has been captivating after the former World No.1 got emotional in a press conference thinking he'd never play again after Wimbledon.
He has though and is finding his feet again despite him openly admitting he will never be the player he was. Murray showed flashes of brilliance despite going down 6-2, 7-6.
He was broken to begin the tie and it was a sign of things to come in terms of the first set but he started to find his feet dealing with Thiem's impressive pace and after being 5-4 down in the second set, he broke serve capitalising on three double faults from Thiem.
Murray was on the verge of claiming the second set but Thiem showed great fight to make it 6-6 and from there he grew claiming the tie-break 7-3.
Next up for Murray is the ATP Masters 1000 in Shanghai where he will mix it again with former foes in Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer before he enters into Antwerp the week after. The comeback looks to be going well for him but Thiem proved just too good on the hard courts of Beijing.
