Djokovic delivers 🙌 @DjokerNole has made the #NittoATPFinals semis for a ninth time after defeating Zverev 6-3, 7-6!
Novak Djokovic could still tee up a dream final with Rafael Nadal at the ATP Finals after booking his place in the semi-finals with victory over Alexander Zverev 6-3, 7-6(4) and he will next face Dominic Thiem in London.
Defeat by Daniil Medvedev left the five-time champion in the position that he had to beat Zverev to avoid a group stage exit and despite this pressure, it was done with relative ease at times from the World Number One.
With both Djokovic and Nadal finishing second in their groups, they could be on a collision course in the final and in the case of the former, he came back well after a poor display against Medvedev where he lost out 6-3, 6-3.
But against Zverev, he seized control of the first after he double faulted to drop his serve in the first service game and he claimed the first set from there.
In the second though it went all the way to a tiebreak which saw Djokovic produce when it really counted with him going 5-3 ahead before bringing up match points despite some edgy parts during the set.
