Mats Wilander is delighted by teh semifinal matchups we got this year at
Roland Garros calling it a dream scenario.
The ATP Roland Garros semifinals are set and we will see
Novak Djokovic take on
Rafael Nadal while
Stefanos Tsitsipas will play
Alexander Zverev. One man who closely followed all matches at the event is Mats Wilander and he called this outcome the dream scenario.
He said:
“When you looked at the draw this is the dream scenario. This is one of the first times I have felt this but regardless of who wins between Rafa and Novak this is going to be tough against Tsitsipas or Zverev – they have a great chance to win their first Grand Slam, a great chance.”
Wilander also spoke about Djokovic and his outburst of emotion following the win over Berrettini. He said:
“The emotion at the end, that’s what he is holding in the whole time. That’s why I am so impressed and proud to be part of the sport of professional tennis because these players have gone through very, very difficult times and they are holding a lot of emotion in."
