Eugenie Bouchard begs Carlos Alcaraz to put his nipples away after US Open wardrobe malfunction

Carlos Alcaraz won his first singles match in over four months at the US Open earlier this week and while he produced an epic display against Roman Safiullin, some were less impressed due to the fact that he had his nipple out.

It peeked out from beneath his brown Nike tank top which also elicited a hilarious reaction from a certain Eugenie Bouchard who continues to work on coverage of the tournament.

The defending champion decided to return in New York having missed the French Open, Wimbledon and North American hard court swing. The Spaniard launched his comeback by partnering Serena Williams in last week's mixed doubles event.

But then he made his return to face Roman Safiullin, a player he had previously lost to 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 on Arthur Ashe. Albeit while he put on a show on the court, some were left a bit distracted by his outfit. One made special in a collaboration with Travis Scott's Cactus Jack brand.

The rapper even was in the box of Alcaraz for the occasion. But while he would've been happy to see that on show, Bouchard wasn't in regards to the nipple.

Others also joked about it on social media having spotted exactly the same thing as Bouchard. "Carlos Alcaraz sponsored by the Free the Nipple movement this USO!" one wrote.

Another few highlights included. "Everyone is tweeting about carlos’ nipples instead of the match, the real carlos alcaraz match experience is so back”.

Another wrote: “Alcaraz played his whole match today with his nipples out”.

Another added: “I’m not fan of seeing so much of Alcaraz’s nipple this US Open. This outfit is so bad.”

Averting the nipple issue

But while he had that issue, he had no problems on court and managed to beat a tricky customer in Safiullin. "It’s been a really tough five months for me.

“So to be able to step into Arthur Ashe and be able to compete again… as I said before the tournament I couldn’t have decided to come back at a better tournament, here at the US Open, here in New York.

“It’s a really special place for me, a special tournament for me.

“I tried to enjoy as much as I can. I missed it. I missed the crowd, the energy.

“I missed the competition. I missed everything, so I’m just really happy I was able to compete again.”
