Carlos Alcaraz is fully focused on the grand final of Wimbledon 2024 that the Spaniard will play this Sunday, July 14. The Spaniard will once again face Novak Djokovic in a rematch of last year's title match, while it has been confirmed that his coach,
Juan Carlos Ferrero, will not be his coach at the next
Olympic Games in Paris, to be held from July 26 to August 4.
The news has been confirmed this Saturday. Ferrero will not be part of Carlitos' coaching staff in an Olympic event where he will compete both in the singles and doubles with Rafa Nadal, forming a historic pair in the last great tournament of the Spanish tennis legend.
The news is not strange at all, it is something completely normal with Juan Carlos Ferrero. Alcaraz's coach has always taken his vacations, and there have been many tournaments where Carlos has competed in which he has not been present. Only in the case of disputing the final rounds of the Olympic Games, Ferrero would travel to Paris to attend as a guest.
David Ferrer to take over from Ferrero
The person in charge of captaining Carlos Alcaraz, Nadal and the rest of the Spanish team at the Olympic Games will be David Ferrer, who is the national coach of the Davis Cup. Personally, Carlitos will be accompanied by his agent Albert Molina.
Beyond what happens at the Olympic Games, Carlos Alcaraz is probably not worried about all this right now. He is less than 24 hours away from fighting against Djokovic to win Wimbledon 2024. If he succeeds, the player from El Palmar de Murcia would achieve, in addition to revalidate last year's title, the fourth Grand Slam of his career with only 21 years old.
