Although both men missed this year's edition of the annual
Laver Cup due to injury,
Roger Federer has accepted
Rafael Nadal's request to play doubles together at next year's tournament.
With Team Europe claiming this year's event, the Laver Cup is set to return to London in September 2022, Nadal took to Instagram to congratulate the members of the European squad, before posing the question to Federer.
"@rogerfederer doubles next year?" wrote the Spaniard.
The Swiss superstar responded to Nadal's request, accepting the offer and exciting fans worldwide about a potential "Fedal" reunion.
“Bringing back the old Fedal in London would be amazing,” Federer wrote as he responded to Nadal’s post.
The duo played their only doubles match together at the Laver Cup in 2017, defeating Americans Jack Sock and Sam Querrey in three sets.
