Switzerland’s legendary tennis player Roger Federer is set to be honoured at the 2023 edition of the Laver Cup.
The 41-year-old remains one of the most iconic players in the history of men’s singles tennis in the Open era.
Federer is set to be honoured at the 2023 Laver Cup for his services to the game and the competition.
Federer was quoted ahead of the event that he will miss the ‘Laver Cup a lot’.
“I’ll miss Laver Cup a lot,” he said. “With my last match also played there with Rafa, Novak, Murray, everyone celebrating my career. It was a beautiful moment.”
The Laver Cup is set to be played from 22 to 24 September at the Rogers Arena in Canada.
Federer finished his career as one of the greatest of all time after winning 20 Grand Slams in his illustrious career.
The Basel-born was the first men’s player in the Open era history to win more than 15 Grand Slam titles. That’s not it as he was also the first to win 20 major titles in his career.
Federer’s most successful competition was Wimbledon where he ended up lifting the title as many as eight times which is still a record in the history of the tournament.
