🙋♂️ @NeilMcLeman asked Wimbledon organisers if they plan to honour Roger Federer this summer
Roger Federer is set to be honoured at the Wimbledon championships later this year for his outstanding achievements at the only grass court major event.
What Federer did in his career is widely known to most tennis fans but his best moments always came at Wimbledon. The tennis maestro won 8 Wimbledon's in his career and that's the biggest chunk of his 20 grand slam trophies overall. Nobody won as many Wimbledon trophies as he did over the years and he will be honoured for that at the 2023 edition.
It was confirmed by AELTC chairman Ian Hewitt:
"He is obviously a very great champion. We have a very close association. I am delighted to say that Roger Federer has been making a visit here and as a member, is very welcome at any time. And yes, we will be celebrating his achievements in an appropriate Wimbledon way in due course, more to follow."
