After making his debut at the year-ending ATP Finals in 2022, Felix Auger-Aliassime has revealed he would like to make a return to the elite event this season.
The Canadian played some of the best tennis of his young career during the 2022 season, winning four titles in Rotterdam, Florence, Antwerp and Basel. His stellar string of performances culminated with him making his first appearance at the season-ending ATP Finals Masters event, a goal Auger-Aliassime would like to replicate in 2025.
Although Auger-Aliassime suffered a disappointing first round exit at last week's Indian Wells event, the 24-year old has had a solid 2025 season thus far. Auger-Aliassime has won two titles this year, lifting trophies at Adelaide and Montpellier. Furthermore, he finished runner-up in Dubai and made a semifinal appearance at the Qatar Open.
With more than half of the season left on the ATP calendar, Auger-Aliassime believes he is on the right path to achieving one of his goals for the year. The former World No.6 revealed he would like to return to the ATP Finals, and compete alongside the elite stars on tour.
"I feel more balanced and clear-headed," said Auger-Aliassime in his press conference prior to the Miami Open. "I didn't expect to fall so low, but I kept working hard and believing in my abilities. I've been very disciplined in all the aspects necessary to be a good tennis player and I'm proud of that. I've managed to stay almost always in the top 30 over the years, overcoming physical, tennis and mental challenges.
"Today I'm reaping the rewards of that work, I feel like I'm playing my best tennis again. I know that if I maintain the consistency of those first months throughout the season and am able to put in some great performances in one or more major tournaments, I have a chance to compete in the ATP Finals again. That's definitely a realistic goal for me this year."
