An excellent match at the World Tennis League in Dubai was played between Felix Auger-Aliassime and Dominic Thiem as the Canadian proved better in two sets.
The match was highly competitive and Dominic Thiem kept up with Auger-Aliassime pretty well. It was a good sign for the Austrian who is expected to make a major comeback this year after struggling through most of last year. The first set ended in a tiebreak as Felix could not hold onto a break he got midway through the set.
Thiem battled back but he didn't have enough energy to finish off the comeback as Auger held on in the tiebreak 7-2. The second set was quite competitive as neither player was able to create any break chances. Both served well and held their serve without much complication. The second set tiebreak was well played by both.
Thiem was up 3-1 and then 4-2 but allowed Auger to rally and take a 5-4 lead. He had a set point at 6-5 but failed to use it with Auger ending it 8-6.
