The road to Turin is complete with the field for the 2024 ATP Finals confirmed which is due to take place between 10-17 November, 2024 in Italy with Jannik Sinner returning this year as the favourite and home hero.
Last year saw Sinner make an almighty splash as he saw off Novak Djokovic who at the time was the imperious kingpin twice in two weeks at both the ATP Finals and the Davis Cup Finals. Albeit the former was avenged soon after as he was defeated in the final by Djokovic.
But Djokovic has since been beaten every time since and won't play this year. For a long time it didn't look like he would even qualify but he did and due to an ongoing injury, he has decided not to play in Turin.
As a result, it has led to top names who decided to play this week perhaps not needing to remain where they are e.g in Metz or Belgrade with their seedings being the only thing really still up for grabs.
Casper Ruud, Alex de Minaur and Andrey Rublev have now confirmed their spots in Turin and will join Sinner, Zverev, Alcaraz, Medvedev and Fritz. The latter was the latest to be confirmed with the rest having their spots set for a long time.
Ruud returns after reaching the final two years ago and is set for his third appearance in the prestigious event. De Minaur is set for a historic debut as he becomes the first Australian to make it since Lleyton Hewitt made the final back in 2004. Rublev makes his fifth consecutive appearance and he has qualified for all four editions held in Turin. Playing for $15.25 million in prize money with the winner having the chance to earn a record-breaking $4.8 million, it will be an event to remember.
Also it could yet be the final year for some players with certain others clipping at their heels such as Jack Draper, Arthur Fils among others who could yet make the step up next season.
