The former coach of Daniil Medvedev Jean-Rene Lisnard believes that Rafael Nadal is the best player of all time explaining that he's still on top of everything.
Jean-Rene Lisnard has worked with Medvedev in the past as the duo met while Medvedev was in France. The Russian arrived in the country as a teenager and it proved a pivotal time for his development helping him become the player that he is today. He still lives in the south of France with his official residence listed as Monte-Carlo while his wife gave birth in the nearby Nice hospital when they welcomed their daughter.
Lisnard knows him well and he others other players as well having been a pro on the Tour. He battled most of the best players in recent tennis history and to him, it's pretty clear that Nadal is the best. He explained that in a recent interview by comparing his recollection of playing against him and others.
According to Lisnard, Nadal is better than Federer, Djokovic and Agassi because every shot he plays puts you through hell:
“I played Federer, Djokovic, Agassi… The best is Nadal. Every shot is hell. When I do Roland Garros with juniors, I show them Rafa training: 'He has $500 million, more than 20 Slams, but he's still on top of everything’”
He's not wrong as Nadal is one of the greatest competitors the sport has evern seen. He didn't have perfect health throughout his caerer dealing with a lot of injuries as well. The Spaniard overcame that becoming a player who spend neearly 20 years in the top 10 which is amazing considering that many questioned whether he'd be able to play at 30 with his injury history. He's not playing right now but he'll be back next year for one last dance.
