Italy’s tennis star Jannik Sinner has achieved yet another milestone after reaching the final of the Miami Open. The 22-year-old is often regarded as one of the most highly-rated players currently playing in the men’s singles category along with the current world number two Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz.
Sinner lived up to the hype and expectations once again as he registered a thumping win over the current world number four Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in the semifinal of the ongoing ATP 1000 event with a score of 6-1, 6-2 on Friday.
It will be the fourth consecutive final appearance for the current world number four in the 2024 season which took his season’s earnings to $2,861,288. With that, he became the first Italian player to earn more than $20 million in prize money in professional tennis.
Out of the three finals in 2024, Sinner has won twice and only lost to Alcaraz at Indian Wells with a score of 1-6, 6-3 6-2. Before that, he won the Australian Open after beating Medvedev in a five-set thrilling final with a score of 3-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3.
He later went on to win the ATP event in Rotterdam after beating Australia’s Alex de Minaur in the final in straight sets with a score of 7-5, 6-4.
