It was 'two much' for
Dominic Thiem on Friday at BMW Open in Munich with
Taylor Fritz accounting for the Austrian in straight sets in Germany to reach the semi-finals.
Thiem had to play two matches in a day starting off with a superb win over Marc-Andrea Huesler but lost out 3-6, 4-6 to the top American.
He now faces Botic van de Zandschulp who saw off Marcos Giron earlier on today and is another notch of confidence for Fritz after reaching the Monte-Carlo Masters semi-finals.
He continues to show himself as a clay-court threat but for Thiem, there are signs to be optimistic after a good run this week but seemingly having to come back today twice affected him.
The other semifinal is contested by the defending champion and first seed, Holger Rune and Australian Christopher O'Connell, the latter dumped out Alexander Zverev yesterday.
