Denmark’s tennis star
Holger Rune has revealed that he is still
hopeful of playing in the
ATP Finals despite having poor form recently.
The last major tournament on the ATP calendar will be played
next month where the top eight players will participate.
Rune was recently quoted in a report where he expressed
optimism about featuring in the event despite going through a rough patch.
“Firstly, my mind is to get back to my level and from there
start improving again,” he said. “It would be great to say that after a good,
and then not a good year, to at least say that I finished in Turin.
“Like always, it's still to be the best in the world. I'll
just try to do everything as good, so I give myself a good chance this year.”
The 20-year-old has recently featured in the Shanghai Masters
where he was knocked out from the round of 64 after losing to America’s Brandon
Nakashima with a score of 6-0, 6-2.
That result was another one in the list of disappointing outings
in the recent past for the current world number five.
Previously, he was
also knocked out from the second round of the China Open after losing to Grigor
Dimitrov in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 7-5.
