One of Djokovic's main sponsors Peugeot has backed Djokovic after his recent interview with BBC saying that they are glad he's expressed himself.
Ever since Novak Djokovic was deported from Australia, many have reported that all of his sponsors will evaluate their relationships with the tennis superstar. The Serbian has drawn a lot of criticisms from the general public over his COVID-19 vaccine stance as he is unwilling to take it. Some reports have come out that several sponsors will take a look at the situation and then release statements.
Although not an official statement, a Peugeot representative was quoted as expressing the opinion of the car manufacturer saying:
“We anticipate the Peugeot brand will be represented at the tournament in Dubai on Mr Djokovic’s shirt. Peugeot has taken note of Mr Djokovic’s statements and is glad that he has expressed himself."
While not an official endorsement the brand seemed to confirm that ht partnership will continue in the future as they expect Djokovic o represent the brand in Dubai. Whether something changes in the near future remains to be seen but for now, Djokovic and Peugeot will continue on.
