The
Grand Prix Hassan II is a big part of the early clay court season as the action heads to Marrakech on the 30th March - 5 April on the ATP 250 series.
As well as Bucharest and events in
Houston, Charleston and Bogota, the latter two on the WTA Tour, it is Morocco that holds a place in the calendar too. It sees Luciano Darderi return as top seed and defending champion.
As well as Tallon Griekspoor, Valentin Vacherot, Matteo Berrettini among others in a top line-up of players most of which are aiming to rediscover former glories over the next weeks. Some like Griekspoor too have just come back off injury after having a superb run earlier in the year so are ones to watch.

Predictions Grand Prix Hassan II
Samuel Gill, Head Editor for TennisUpToDate.com sees Terence Atmane as the champion here.
Showing green shoots of life so to speak in recent weeks, I see Terence Atmane accruing more money to add to his Pokemon collection and I think he will be up there.
The same can be said for Valentin Vacherot and I also see Matteo Berrettini coming in and having a good week.
Same can be said for Corentin Moutet who himself has been engulfed with dm drama with Danielle Collins and will hope to see his tennis do the talking over anything else.
*** Terence Atmane
** Valentin Vacherot, Matteo Berrettini
* Corentin Moutet, Tallon Griekspoor
Lucas Michael, Editor for TennisUpToDate.com is picking Tallon Griekspoor for glory in this case.
The ATP Tour is heading to Africa for the Grand Prix Hassan II. A number of players will be commencing their clay court swing in Casablanca.
In recent years, it has been dominated by Italian’s. The reigning champion, Luciano Darderi, will be a firm favourite to re-take his title. A very good player on clay, all six ATP finals have come on this surface. Two of them have come in the Golden swing in a note-worthy campaign in South America.
The competitors will be line-up behind to challenge. Tallon Greiekspor’s last match came in the semi-final of the tournament in Dubai, defeating Andrey Rublev before withdrawing from the final. He will hope to keep this form up and make a solid return from a frustrating injury setback. The number two seed also lost to Darderi last year in the final, with revenge possibly on the cards.
For me, those two are the outright favourites with Valentin Vacheort withdrawing. Corentin Moutet could cause a surprise with his first ATP title while Tomas Machac and Matteo Berrettini could also find themselves at the business end. For the champion, I am going to back Griekspoor to continue his fine form and surprise Darderi in Northern Africa.
