Paula
Badosa revealed her first impression of
Stefanos Tsitsipas before their
relationship.
The tennis
couple made their relationship public a few weeks ago, sharing a series of
photos and videos on social media. Recently, during a live Instagram session,
Paula Badosa was asked if she and Stefanos Tsitsipas were friends before they
started their relationship.
The Spanish
player, currently ranked world No. 34, mentioned that the Greek tennis player
had never greeted her whenever they crossed paths during tournaments throughout
the tour:
"He
never said hi to me, I was like what's wrong with him. He was like passing by
me and not even like looking at me, not even like hi, hello, or good morning or
whatever, nada nothing," Badosa said.
"Now he
is saying hi atleast or something, can't complain," she added.
The revelation
from Badosa comes a few days after Tsitsipas commented on why he is so open
about their relationship, as they have faced trolling on social media
"The
truth is that I haven't really been too vocal about stuff like this or exposing
myself I guess too much, but when you know, you don't really care. You know, it
feels right, it feels natural. There's no shame. So it's just like family. It's
just as if you are sharing moments with your family. It's absolutely the
same," 2-time Grand Slam finalist said.
The couple
is taking a few days off from tournaments after
Wimbledon. Badosa exited in the
second round after retiring while trailing in the score against Marta Kostyuk
(6-2, 1-0 in favor of the Ukrainian). The former Indian Wells champion once
again faced physical issues with her back, but she is listed as a participant
in the WTA 500 Washington event in two weeks.
Meanwhile,
Tsitsipas will be playing in the ATP 250 Los Cabos Open during the same week,
where he is the top seed. He will be facing tough opponents such as Karen
Khachanov, Cameron Norrie, Alex de Minaur, Tommy Paul, and Nicolas Jarry.
