The floodgates will now open for Jannik Sinner and he will be 'unstoppable' after winning the 2024 Australian Open. That is the view of Nick Kyrgios who was working on Eurosport covering the final that saw the Italian see off Daniil Medvedev.

Sinner came from two sets down to cement his title run which saw him claim it 3-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3 to become the latest new Grand Slam champion and go from being a player that was a question mark in regards to whether he would achieve his potential to being a real force at the top of men's tennis ironically since he was sick in a bin during the China Open in Beijing. It is not only his superb brand of tennis though according to Kyrgios that will give him further accolades, it is his personality and mindset that keep him driven and grounded that hold the keys.

"Jannik Sinner, what an effort," Kyrgios said on Eurosport. "It was incredible how much his level raised in the third, fourth and fifth sets. He found his forehand. I’m just so happy that I was a part of it and could call it.
"I was there calling his matches towards the end of the year, against Novak in Turin and then at the Davis Cup. I thought that this guy was going to ask some serious questions and was soon going to be knocking on the door.
"I saw the improvement on serve and elsewhere, and the maturity he has at such a young age is something that I never have, or had, to get over the hump.
"I did predict that he was going to be a new Slam winner in 2024 - whether or not it was this one, it could have been the US Open. This is going to be such a big leapfrog for him, and I think we’re going to see him win plenty more Slams in the next couple of years.
"Now he’s got this one, he’s going to be unstoppable. He shows incredible maturity. He has just won the biggest title of his life, and he’s very humble and giving me compliments. That gives you an insight of how he is.
"He’s a super nice guy and you can tell that he’s already got his sights on something else. He wants to keep achieving these things and go off to more Slams. He’s not satisfied. What a competitor; he is ready to keep going. He is going to be around for a long time."
